Facilities
Sprawling infrastructure of SEEPZ-SEZ is spread over 111 acres. The Zone provides necessary infrastructure for facilitation setting up of units in the Zone such as:
- Developed Plots
- Ready built up galas
There are 7 Standard Design Factories and 3 Gems & Jewellery Factories, 2 Towers in SEEEPZ++area & one multi-storied building Plots are leased for 30 years and built up area is leased for five years on renewable basis. Well connected network of central roads, and a Business Facilitation Centre are facility of Zone. At present, the lease rent charged for built up area is Rs. 2230/- per sq. mtr. p.a. and for plots Rs. 100/- per sq. mtr. p.a. in addition to that user charges and maintenance costs is also charged.

As SEEPZ-SEZ is statutorily exempted from power cuts, uninterrupted power supply is guaranteed from generating stations of Western Maharashtra.
The Zone has also an assured supply of 4.6 mld. Of water a day.
SEEPZ-SEZ is a export manufacturing hub with an in-house Customs clearance facility. This enables the exporters to deliver their air and sea consignments well in time without any hassles and through simplified procedures. SEEPZ-SEZ offers unique combination of urban infrastructure, skilled labour, eco-friendly production, speedy and cost effective shipping.
SEEPZ-SEZ has a well groomed security system including a high security entrance to avoid any pilferage of duty free goods.
Supporting the philosophy of making every business process sustainable for the zone and the society at large, SEEPZ-SEZ facilities and encourages that the units within the Zone offer regular programme for skill development, to and fro transport and recreational facilities to their individual employees.

Disaster Management
In pursuant to DM Act 2005, Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA), Pune (A Govt of Maharashtra Organisation) prepared Disaster Management Plan for SEEPZ-SEZ in the year 2010. YASHADA was assigned the work of implementation of Disaster Management Plan in the year May 2013.
For Disaster Prevention and Management Following Centre/Committees have been operationalized.- EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTRE (EOC)
- SECTOR LEVEL COMMITTEE
- To ensure that the security arrangements within the sector are fully operative and effective. Report any anomalies to SEEPZ EMC.
- To review the security aspects with respect to structural strength of buildings and other structural, emergency exit arrangements of each building, storage of material outside the building/units/ SDFs
- Inspect the drainage systems, water distribution systems, electricity distribution systems/ transformers and cabling for efficient functioning.
- Review safety aspects of canteens, car parks, traffic ability, garbage disposal and other general common facilities within the sector.
- Keep track of progress if any new project concerning security.
- Report any anomalies/ incidents and suggest improvements in the systems and analyse difficulties.:
- Ensure that at sector level, there is adequate response force. The committee will review requirement of training to such force, co-ordinate manpower requirements for such a force with the SDF’s and units and project the requirement to the SEEPZ-SEZ EMC.
- SDF LEVEL COMMITTEE
- Appraise all units within SDF/ Building on contents of DM plan and make them aware about DM ACT 2005 for strict compliance.
- Hold meetings once a month to review the following:-
- The structural strength of the building.
- Safety and security aspects of the SDF to include duties of security personnel of the SDF and those of the units.
- To review the house-keeping of the SDF and that all response mechanisms are fully in place.
- Review the safety and security of electric cables, sewage lines, water pipelines and water storage tanks.
- That no material is dumped/ stored outside the units and that inflammable material is properly secured and stored separately by the units.
- Suggest to the SEEPZ EMC about any changes to the system/ structural and non-structural mitigation measures for improving safety and security systems of the SDF.
- Identify assembly area for SDF apprise all units.
- In case of emergency, implement the evacuation and response plans and be available to the SEEPZ-EMS and the Incident Command System.
- Carry out routine and surprise inspection of units within the SDF to review internal security of the units.
- Report any anomalies to the Sector Management Committee and also advise the units about any irregularities observed in their respect and send a copy of the same to the SEEPZ EMC.
- UNIT LEVEL COMMITTEE
- Hold and place adequate numbers of fire-fighting equipment like the Fire extinguishers of the appropriate kind, in numbers and capacity.
- The committee will ensure serviceability of all the fire extinguishers and will be responsible for refilling the same.
- The entry/ Exit control is adequately established.
- Ensure that no material is dumped/stored outside the unit premises
- To ensure that inflammable material is safely stored.
- To prepare a Fire Safety plan for the unit and explain the same to all employees. Also explain the DM plan of SEEPZ-SEZ.
- Ensure that adequate trained personnel are available with the unit and get training organised periodically.
- Conduct unit mock drills at quarterly basis.
- Liaise with the SDF Committee and ensure that all that directions of the SDF committee are implemented.
- Will render 6 monthly reports to SEEPZ-SEZ as per the list of report returns.

TRAINING IMPARTED BY YASHADA
YASHADA a Maharashtra State Government agency is an official implementing agency to implement Disaster Management Plan in SEEPZ-SEZ. YASHADA has imparted the following training to all units and security guards:
- Fire prevention and fire fighting.
- Search and rescue.
- First aid.
- Carrying casualties.
- Evacuation procedure.
- Procedure for Access Control System.
MOCK DRILL
Mock drill practices are essential to train SDF/units in preparing themselves for fire fighting, rescue, salvaging and evacuation procedure. All SDF/building committee are required to conduct mock drill once in a year and will be witnessed by SEEPZ committee.

Activities In progress

Zero Waste Management
Stree Mukti Sanghatana conducted Audit in month of Nov, 2014 to assess waste generated in SEEPZ. The objective of this audit was to find loopholes in present operations and strengthen the current waste management system. Audit was conducted mainly on following three aspects:
- The nature and amount of the waste generated in SEEPZ.
- The manner in which the waste is collected including any relevant management policy of collecting waste.
- The manner in which the waste is to be disposed of.
