Philodendrons are the most tolerant, well-known, and durable of all house plants. Most Philodendrons are native to the jungles of tropical America, hence, being a jungle plant, they prefer low light intensity, as would have been on the jungle floor.

The Xanadu plant is one of around 450 varieties of Philodendron. It can grow up to be 4 ft long and 5 ft wide, depending upon its species, region, size, etc. The leaves are shiny green and leathery. Xanadu is not a climber and has more of an upright bushy look. Xanadu is a wonderful air purifying plant that filters airborne toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene from the atmosphere.

They are known to be good container plants, as they form a dense and compact shape, suitable for less fussy home décor, however, they grow well outdoors in moderate climates as well.
